PERFORMANCES ACROSS GENRES

Known for presenting a wide selection of genre, the Ross Ragland Theater welcomed the winner of two Blues Music Awards ( Album of the Year and Best Traditional Blues Recording). Mark Hummel’s Blues Harmonica Blowout™ captivated an audience of blues aficionados on Valentine Day 2026. The group’s performances started on a Sunday night in 1991 at Ashkenaz in Berkeley with four harmonica players. Since then, it’s become a who’s who of older and younger players, national and international. Year after year, Mark Hummel’s Blues Harmonica Blowout™ continues to play festivals nationally and internationally.

Klamath Chorale

Exhibiting the cultural attraction afforded residents of the greater Klamath Basin by the existence of the Ross Ragland Theater was a recent performance by the Klamath Chorale, an all-volunteer group founded in 1979. A near capacity audience attended the performance on a mild December afternoon. Installation of a new sound system in the Theater delighted the audience, as well as chorale members. The chorale performed a total of twenty-eight musical renditions of classic and newly written holiday songs for an adoring audience. Joining the chorale for several numbers was the Rag Tag Choir, a group of 5- to 7-year-olds. The selection of Christmas songs included those of an international flavor – traditional French, Irish, and Ukrainian, as well as a song with the vibe of Chanukah. The Ragland Rife Foundation is proud to be a supporter of the Theater’s ongoing efforts to not only bring professionals to the stage but also local talent.
